Randstad and Tomorrow’s People

25 years of making life work

We are proud to work in partnership with Tomorrows People as our UK Corporate Sponsored Charity in this their 25th Jubilee Year.

Randstad's 2009 focus is with Tomorrows People's Health & Work Operation supporting their Employment Advisors based at GP surgeries, hospitals and pain clinics to help the long-term sick get back to work.

Randstad's ethics in line with our Corporate Social Responsibility commitment mirror Tomorrows People workstyle: ‘finding jobs for people and candidates for clients’ using a one-to-one confidential approach tailored to individual needs, CV and interview skills training, job-search, and strong links and relationships with local employers all of which is provided free of charge.

Tomorrows People is a specialist national employment charity which helps long-term unemployed people out of unemployment and welfare dependancy and into jobs and self-sufficiency.

They help to break the cycle of unemployment and dependency by helping the most disadvantaged to get and keep a job, most importantly once someone gets a job they stay with them and their employer over the long-term to ensure that success is permanent.

Since 1984 by working with the hardest to reach groups directly in their community Tomorrows People have helped over 400,000 long term unemployed back into employment…90% of people are still in employment 3 months later and 76% are still working after a year.

Some of those that Tomorrows People work with include lone parents, ex-offenders, homeless people, long-term sick, vulnerable young people, people with disabilities, carers, refugees, alcohol and drug dependants.

They provide free and confidential support such as confidence and motivation building, job search support and help with CV writing and interview techniques. The impact of getting back to work literally transforms lives. When people who haven’t been able to work find a job, it puts them and their families on a secure financial footing and enables them to move forward with their lives.

An independent Oxford Economics evaluation showed that between 1984-2004 Tomorrows People benefited society by over £450 million.
