Randstad launches salary survey – Londoners are more likely to be self-employed than the rest of UK
Randstad, the world’s third largest recruitment and HR services company is pleased to announce the launch of their first salary survey ‘Tempting enough talent?’
This snap shot of employment trends highlights just how much salaries vary across the UK. Key findings from the independent research include:
- Unsurprisingly salaries in London are 19.5% higher than Thames Valley in number 2 spot in the survey and is 39% higher than bottom of the table Northern Ireland
- Londoners are more likely to be self-employed than people in the UK as a whole. 16% are self-employed compared with 12% across UK
- 70% of women in London work full-time compared to 59% in the rest of the UK
- Men in London are more likely to work part-time than their counterparts in other parts of the country
Fred van der Tang, Managing Director Randstad UK said: “Our research and industry knowledge shows that salaries are very important when it comes to people job-hunting, but companies should be aware that other elements such as company culture, work environment and qualitative benefits are also important in attracting and retaining the best people.”
