At Randstad, we never subscribe to ‘one size fits all’. That’s why as part of our appraisal process, every Randstad employee has an individual development plan to encourage personal career growth, as well as identify key skills for future succession planning. This plan is regularly reviewed which allows for a more structured approach towards learning and development. Your individual development plan may lead to participation in training courses, new responsibilities, job shadowing or participation in a special project that puts you on a fast track towards your next role. With our annual talent review and succession planning processes we will actively manage our talent pool to help us fully realise your potential.
We believe that training our managers and future leaders is just as important to maintain our consistently high standards of performance and professionalism. In addition to conducting regular 360 degree assessments, we provide ongoing training courses focused on developing personal leadership behaviours and skills, understanding team dynamics, developing and coaching others, as well as practising these skills in a real environment. “I’ve been really fortunate to progress through the ranks at Randstad which has meant that I’ve been able to take on more management and leadership responsibility. Not only have I been given the day to day support and guidance I’ve needed to succeed, but Randstad have also been fantastic at providing structured training and development. I’ve recently started on the Leaders in Action programme which is an initiative designed to help me develop my leadership skills and competencies”. Claudine Deleau, Randstad Care
Learning and development is not just about classroom or formal training. Being part of the Randstad Group offers the possibility to work on volunteer projects abroad in order to develop you both professionally and personally. We have been partners with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) since 2005. VSO’s core activity is matching volunteers’ skills with the needs of communities in the developing world. This means Randstad employees can share their skills and change lives in countries such as Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Namibia. Becoming a VSO volunteer often requires strong skills in finance, IT, marketing, communications, HR or management. “Being given the opportunity to visit Zambia and Botswana with VSO was an incredible experience. My visit brought home the underlying message of VSO’s purpose. By sharing our expertise and experience and sending our people to developing countries, we help VSO in their fight against global poverty”. Henry Grey, Randstad Staffing
