our recruitment process

If you are interested in working with Randstad, you should know something about our recruitment process. We use the process outlined below to make sure we take only the best candidates.

Telephone screening – a member of our dedicated HR team will contact you to arrange an initial telephone conversation. This is an ideal opportunity for us to make sure that it’s ‘Good to Know You’.

Online assessments – in partnership with a world-leader in career and psychometric testing, applicants will be asked to complete a series of on-line tests. If you are applying for a role as a consultant, then we will ask you to complete, as a minimum, a verbal reasoning and a numerical reasoning assessment. These take 15 minutes and about 20 minutes respectively. For Branch Manager posts, you will be asked to take these assessments and a managerial judgement assessment that lasts about 50 minutes.

This is followed by the first stage interview with a member of our Resourcing team. This normally takes place at a regional resourcing centre. Our method of selection is competency-based and we will offer you the chance to tell us about real-life examples of the competencies we look for in our corporate staff. There will also be an opportunity for you to impress us with a work-based presentation.

A member of our Resourcing team and your potential line manager conduct the second stage interview. Competency-based questions figure highly once again, and there will be an opportunity for you to make a presentation to your interviewers.

Finally, the job offer; on successful completion of the process, and subject to receiving acceptable references, you will receive a verbal offer. This is followed up by an offer in writing, and your start date is confirmed.
