The Forum of Private Business is hosting a conference designed to tackle one of the most sensitive issues in the workplace – poor performance.

Managers will discuss how to get the best out of their staff and identify what motivates people.

The workshop, which will include a number of expert speakers, is designed to help improve the skills required to manage individual performance effectively, as well as examining specific situations such as allegations of bullying or stress.

And, with an array of legal issues at stake in the modern workplace, Mace & Jones Solicitors will be on hand to examine some of the potential implications for managers.

Sue Ensall, an employment solicitor, will discuss all areas of employment law, having also worked for a number of years as an HR manager in the manufacturing and finance sectors.

In addition, Chris Ellis, a senior HR adviser, will discuss operational and strategic people management experience.

Workplace etiquette and management responsibilities have become an increasingly important aspect of office life as legislation has developed to protect employees from harassment and discrimination.
