Graduates now less keen on London

Graduates are now less likely to look to work in London and more will reject thoughts of commercial jobs in the City altogether.
Research published by Onrec.com has revealed changing attitudes towards work locations and suggests other cities could benefit.
"As the realities of a recession sink in, even more graduates may well shy away from working in London where the cost of living is known to be potentially higher than anywhere else in the UK," says recruiter, Mike Barnard.
Now only six in ten graduates expect to look for work in London, down from 71 per cent last year.
Furthermore, 34 per cent of those polled rejected jobs in the city outright. Almost half (48 per cent) said they would prefer a city suburb to a base outside of town, and nearly a quarter (24 per cent) said they were attracted to the south-east.
However, many were also looking for a short commute. According to Milkround.com, which conducted the poll, this could also lead them to look away from London.
Employment opportunities in Worcester could offer graduates easier daily travel and a more rural setting.
