The Recruitment and Employment Confederation has launched the Agency Work Commission in preparation for new EU employment laws.

The Commission will make practical recommendations to the government on the implementation of the controversial EU Agency Workers Directive (AWD).

By adopting a compromised deal on the AWD the government could give temporary staff the same treatment as permanent workers after 12 weeks in work.

"We have a crucial part to play in influencing the progress of the AWD in its future phases," said chief executive Kevin Green.

"This we can only do by giving providers and users of temporary staff a chance to weigh up the options and give direct feedback to government."

The AWD hopes to limit any damage done to UK's fragile employment market, which offers a variety of professional and industrial jobs.

Recruitment agencies in Worcester often have vacancies for part time and full time posts.
