The BBC has decided to unite the elements of its BBC World News gathering operation in a new studio in Television Centre. By bringing together its television radio and internet elements it hopes to create a centralised hub, which produces news to be broadcast around the globe. "These changes, along with the new studio and news programming, demonstrate our commitment to providing viewers with the best international news and information available," claimed Richard Porter, head of news. BBC World News owns BBC World and from its launch will offer 24-hour television coverage. Mr Porter added: "Now our international news talent is in one location, we can further strengthen our output across TV, online and radio platforms." The BBC employs thousands of people – reporters, editors, writers and a range of commercial jobs. The broadcaster has revealed BBC World News has 78 million viewers from 160 million households globally.
