The internet's instant response culture has led companies to demand faster replies to their emails, according to author Matthew Beaumont. Business response times to enquiries have fallen, according to a recent Bellwether report and Mr Beaumont blamed the web. "Everything is on the internet and it has got faster and faster as a means of communication and as a means of getting information," he commented. The survey found a year ago firms had a two-hour window to respond to enquiries or risk losing business - now one in seven demand a response in less than 30 minutes. Telecoms firm, Vodafone, has claimed the spread of mobile messaging and email is a significant factor in the acceleration of business communications. Its mobile email expert, Bryony Clow, said it was a combination of an instant gratification society "coupled with the fact that people know mobile email is out there and other people responding in meetings or when they are out of the office". New research has revealed most mobile internet users are dissatisfied with the basic services currently available.
