Businesses could get all their recruitment advice free and save themselves millions, according to a new government study, it has been reported. Research from the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) has revealed that four in ten businesses ignore government resources and look to external providers for information. Employment relations minister Pat McFadden said: "For small businesses in particular, every penny counts and they shouldn’t have to put their hands in their pockets unnecessarily." "By using Business Link as their first port of call, businesses could save on the costs of advice," he commented. The research also found that businesses were most concerned with staff training, keeping up with employee legislation, retention and recruitment. The site features interactive elements, which include downloadable written statements, employee checklists and an interactive tool to help with managing new and expectant mothers in the workplace.
