A new work advisory service has been launched by the government to help people get back into employment.

The Adult Advancement and Careers Service (AACS) has been devised to combine skills and training advice with practical guidance.

It is designed to help the most needy and those with childcare, finance, housing and disability issues.

"Everyone deserves the best chance to get on in work and in life - but often people find a range of barriers in their way, whether they are seeking work, trying to get a better job, or worried about redundancy," said Skills Secretary John Denham.

He announced their will be ten prototype advisory services, which will inform the launch of the AACS in 2010.

Mr Denham said services must come together to give people the best chance of. They should treat see people "as individuals" and understand their individual needs.
