Randstad Care Scotland has a central hub in Edinburgh through which we have successfully sourced and placed permanent, temporary and contract staff across the region. Furthermore, from the 1st of January 2016 all of our Qualified Social Work roles are managed from Edinburgh to ensure that we are offering every opportunity based on your preferences. The specialised QSW team looking after you has over 30 years combined QSW recruitment experience which means you will be in great hands both now and in the future.

Within the Edinburgh office our continued successes has been down to building long term relationships and providing positive outcomes to both our clients and candidates alike. In the ever-changing world of care, particularly recruitment, we attribute our success to our skilled, experienced consultants who are committed to providing a ‘good to know you service’.

As an office we provide ad-hoc, contract and permanent placements for:

Qualified Social Workers (QSW) Team Leaders, Deputy Managers, Service Managers,  Executive Senior Managers, Support Workers (SVQ) Care Assistants and Project Workers

Working in the community

One of our consultants, Kevin Crawford has taken part in a number of marathons across Europe over the years raising money for charity and will be taking part in the Amsterdam marathon in October, hoping to raise more. Lynne will be taking part in the 3 peaks challenge – climbing the 3 tallest mountains in Britain in July, all in just 24 hours in aid of Variety Children’s Charity. Variety’s aim to improve young people’s lives by providing practical help (such as Sunshine Coaches, wheelchairs and specialist equipment) and memorable childhood experiences. Kevin has also taken part in a number of marathons across Europe over the years raising money for charity and will be taking part in the Amsterdam marathon in October, hoping to raise more.

Meet the team

Richard Cunningham - Regional Business Manager
Richard started with Randstad Care in 2007 and has over nine years’ experience in Qualified Social Work recruitment providing staff to a wide range of local authorities, NHS Trusts, charities and other private sector organisations throughout the UK. Richard has managed the Edinburgh Branch since 2011 and is now also overseeing the QSW Hub operations supplying Qualified Social Workers across London, North West England and Scotland. Richard contributes a unique understanding of the social work market and strives to deliver the best possible outcomes for his candidates and clients.

Lynne Mackenzie - Senior Recruitment Consultant 
Lynne started with Randstad Care in 2012 and has over 4 years’ experience in Qualified Social Work and Allied Health recruitment providing staff to a wide range of our public sector clients including the NHS, local authorities and integrated teams across England and Scotland.

Lynne has an excellent understanding of the public sector which is always a distinct advantage but coupled with that a strong network of candidates. She is committed to placing high calibre professionals providing positive outcomes for both clients and candidates alike'

Mark Deeney - Senior Consultant
Mark started with Randstad Care in 2012 after obtaining 3 years’ experience in the international healthcare insurance industry. As the Senior Consultant for Residential, Mark is directly responsible for the temporary and permanent supply of staff to children services such as schools,local authorities, private organisations and charities.This includes residential care staff, family support workers, special educational needs teachers, classroom assistants and respite support. Mark is also responsible for the direction and management of the Randstad Care Adult Residential Team for Scotland who provide, permanent, temporary, ad hoc and emergency support to a wide range of national accounts.

With his detailed knowledge of GIRFEC, child protection and safeguarding, Mark specialises in providingideal tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of organisations and services that require SSSC, Care Inspectorate and Education Scotland registration.

Chris Tervit - Recruitment Consultant
Chris joined the team at Randstad Care in 2014 and comes from a successful sales background. After originally covering the East, Chris has now taken over all of Scotland providing Qualified Social Workers to over 30 local authorities aswell as charities, NHS trusts and private sector organisations. Chris possesses an in-depth knowledge base of the Scottish Social Work sector and views candidate and client relationships as paramount, always going the extra mile to progress the job seekers' career and ensuring a team is provided with the best match possible to meet the needs of a service.

Mujib Khan - Recruitment Consultant
Mujib joined Randstad Care in 2015 and is the consultant for the Adult Residential desk, providing support to local authorities, care homes, charities as well as private organisations across Scotland. 

He provides various staff from Support Workers to Service Managers; on temporary and permanent basis. As well as this, Mujib manages large key accounts providing ad hoc cover. Providing support to various service users from older adults; adults with learning and physical disabilities to service users with mental health amongst others.

Catriona Atthews - QSW Resourcer 
Catriona started with Randstad Care in 2016 as a Candidate Resoucer within new QSW Hub and is based at the Edinburgh office. 

Her focus is on placing Qualified Social Workers within roles in the London area, predominately within Local Authorities. From London originally, Catriona has excellent local knowledge and is very proud to represent Randstad's Qualified Social Work presence in London. 

Catriona has a varied work history including Account Management, Customer Service and In-House Recruitment and Training. Through this she has built up a wealth of expertise that translates well into her chosen new career at Randstad. 

She also has a strong interest in the Health Care sector, continually striving to improve her knowledge of current market trends and legislations in order to provide the best possible experience for candidates and clients

Richard Sim - QSW Resourcer
Richard started at Randstad Care as a Resourcer in January 2016, working from the new specialist hub based in Edinburgh. Richard is responsible for sourcing Qualified Social Workers with a view to place them within Locum positions at local authorities across the North West of England.  Driven on development and success, his main desire when working with candidates is to make emotional connections with them in order to find the best solution to their needs.

Phil Duncan - QSW  Resourcer
Phil started with Randstad Care in January 2016. Phil is part of the newly formed Edinburgh Qualified Social Work Hub responsible for providing staff to a wide range of local authorities, NHS Trusts, charities and other private sector organisations throughout Scotland’s 32 regions. Phil strives to provide the best possible results for his and Randstad Care’s candidates and clients.

Andrew Bradley - Residential Care Resourcer
Andrew has recently joined Randstad care in January 2016 as a resourcer within residential care, for Adults and children in Scotland  working alongside Mujib and Mark on this very busy desk that is rapidly growing. He is acting as first point of contact for candidates who work within a very challenging sector, who are looking for both temporary and permanent roles.
Working his way though several sectors including healthcare, education, hospitality and retail he was laterally a retail branch manager with a FTSE 100 company for 9 years, before making the move to work within recruitment. 

Colette McKay - Consultant
Colette has worked in the recruitment industry for over 7 years and has experience in account management, BPO and volume recruitment within the private and public sectors having come initially from a risk and change background in Financial Services. Colette joined Randstad Care in 2016 after previously working for Randstad Financial and Professional. As a consultant working within the specialised hub based in Edinburgh, Colette is responsible for placing qualified social workers into roles within local authorities, NHS Trusts and private sector organisations throughout the South East of England. Colette is passionate about understanding the needs and requirements of all the clients she works with closely and helping them engage with high calibre professionals who will represent them well externally. 

Andrew Paterson - Resourcer
Andrew is new to both the Randstad Care team and also to the recruitment world however he has already absorbed the desire to succeed that makes Randstad and its employees successful! His experience is a strong and successful mixture of sales and customer service. He is focused on placing Qualified Social Workers within roles in the London area, predominantly within Local Authorities. Andrew is eager to build his knowledge of both recruitment and the social care sector to provide the best possible experience for candidates and clients. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys playing rugby and travelling when possible.
