I am the Business Manager of Randstad Education’s business south of London covering West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey and Brighton & Hove matching good quality teachers and teaching assistants into local school settings. I have worked in the recruitment industry for the last 15 years across different sectors, with the last 9 years being in the education sector in the South East. Since joining Randstad Education 9 years ago I have worked closely with Special Educational Needs settings helping them source teachers and teaching assistants with experience working with learning difficulties, social emotional & behavioural difficulties and a wide range of other skills used to help SEND learners. Prior to working in recruitment I helped look after an autistic child which sparked an interest in SEN, this has since led to me volunteering in over 30 different SEN settings in the area as well as getting involved in lots of fun ventures from Dragon’s Den days to STEM events to running workshops in colleges to help get low level learners into work to donating £10,000 to a local school to support their amazing science bus project. I am currently a Team Teach tutor and deliver this training to staff across the country to help them improve the lives of the young people they support on a daily basis. I have a wide network of head teachers, business managers, senior leaders, teachers, teaching assistants that I am in ongoing contact with to offer support in any way I can – as you can tell I like to get as involved as possible in education events locally! I am always interested in meeting new people who feel they can contribute to my team so if you have an area of expertise or a skill that you can offer I would always welcome the contact.

Paul Hirchfield - Long Term and Permanent Consultant

I have been a member of the Crawley team for nearly two years as the Long Term and Permanent Consultant in both the Primary and Secondary Sectors after moving from a career as a school teacher. I have many years experience teaching in both the permanent and supply sector in East and West Sussex and so I have excellent understanding of the local marketplace. I use this knowledge to ensure I get the right match for schools and candidates. I am passionate about education and I am dedicated to finding outstanding teachers, perfect roles in ideal schools. I am an enthusiastic and friendly person, who loves talking to people and getting to know them. This has enabled me to develop a pool of quality candidates and build fantastic relationships with schools throughout West Sussex, East Sussex and Brighton and Hove ensuring successful matches for both parties. Outside of work I have two children, my son in Primary education and my daughter in Secondary. As a family we love music and I play guitar (badly), ukulele, piano and drums (very badly). I also enjoy long distance running, swimming and snowboarding.

Chloe Ivens - Primary Consultant

After having worked in a variety of child care settings ranging from paediatric nursing, special needs schools and nurseries I have now been the Primary Consultant for the last year working with a high number of schools and nurseries across West Sussex and Surrey.
Having worked in different child care settings I know how important it is to find that right match between teachers and schools. Every teacher is different and every school is different and I love being able to put people in the right role for them!
I am also proud of the fact that I find almost every teacher I interview a role in a quick time.

I feel I have a lot to offer both my clients and candidates so I'm constantly looking to widen my network of schools, nurseries, teachers, support staff and any other education or childcare based professionals that have different skills to offer.

Simon Strange - SEN Consultant
I joined the Crawley team at the beginning of the year as the SEND consultant working across the Sussex and Surrey areas. I made the move into education consultancy from a number of years as a member of leadership teams within SEN schools in the area.
I have experience as a teacher and leader within in mainstream secondary, physical disability SEND school and SEN school for ASC and EBD.  This enables me to have a full understanding of what it takes to work inside a mainstream and SEND setting and how to be successful.  I enjoy working within education and have always wanted to give something back and help others. In this role I am able to help schools with education matters as well as find the correct person for the schools requirements.
On the flip side I enjoy meeting new people and helping them find the right role in education. This could be people looking to break into education, or established professionals looking to further their careers.

In my own time I enjoy spending time with my young family and seeing them grow and flourish. I enjoy all sports and am a big “Seagulls fan” and am regularly attend the Amex stadium. I continue to teach through private tutoring and keep up to date with education advances.
I have a good network of contacts within and around education including teachers, managers, head teachers and business mangers. I enjoy building these relationships as we are here to help and all have the same goal, this being to educate and develop the young learners.

Testimonials

"Working as a Supply Teacher for Randstad Education has been a fantastic experience. Having had to leave teaching full time to look after elderly parents, Randstad have enabled me to do the job I love when I am able. The staff are extremely personable and friendly and has the ability to make one feel a valued member of their team. Bookings are never in short supply and the system is organised and efficient. The team know their schools and teachers well, and all relevant information is supplied promptly by telephone and confirmed via e mail. I have had some wonderful placements and met many interesting teachers and pupils in the last three years. On a personal level Charlotte has been very sensitive to my ever changing circumstances and hugely supportive, maintaining regular contact and allowing me to make adjustments to my working week as the need arises. I have no hesitation in recommending Randstad to anyone wishing to become a supply teacher."
Maggie Kernot- Teacher

"I joined Randstad Education, Plymouth on recommendation from someone who works in the recruitment industry. As I had recently moved to the South West from the Midlands, I was completely new to the area and had no contacts here within the teaching field. Almost immediately after sending the Plymouth office my CV, Bryony arranged for me to have an interview and was very positive from the outset that Randstad could help. Bryony conducted a very detailed interview with me, which gave me an excellent impression of Randstad as a reputable recruitment firm. Bryony's manner was very professional and she took the time to understand what I wanted as a candidate and to find out my strengths as a teacher. She made sure that she understood my career background and ensured me that she would adopt a 'best fit' approach.

The consultants at Randstad have to be commended for the time and effort they put in to ensure their candidates were appropriately prepared for their bookings. In September, whilst the bookings were quieter, they ran a seminars and CPD Courses. I should point out that at this quieter time I received NO contact from other teaching agencies I had joined. Therefore, I found Bryony and pro-active approach very encouraging and refreshing.

I cannot fault the work that Bryony and the team have done on my behalf. They have provided me with a good constant number of bookings at schools which fit my profile and experience. I would recommend Randstad Education to any teacher looking for supply work and I send my sincere thanks to Bryony for all her help so far."
Caralyn Rolph- Teacher

"Arriving new to Sussex in 2010, I registered with Randstad and was delighted to have Charlotte Paddy as my consultant. Charlotte delivered from the start. She soon had me working as a supply teacher and was adept at finding positions that were exactly the right ones for me. As a supply teacher, you don't want to be out of work - and I never was. Charlotte worked hard for me and kept me consistently busy.

Charlotte also kept her eye on the long-term view, and while she kept me employed on a day-to-day basis, as she strove to try me out in environments that could potentially provide long-term employment. Before I knew it I was going for interviews and considering posts. By February 2011 I was in a maternity cover position that became permanent six months later. Thank you Charlotte for finding me a brilliant job, where I am still working and still happy. I would not hesitate to recommend Charlotte, and I often do so to supply teachers not lucky enough to be working for her. Charlotte is not only totally professional and dedicated to her staff, she has a fabulous sense of humor, and we always had a chat and a laugh as we worked."
Paul Tippett- Teacher

"I joined Randstad Teaching Agency in January 2013. Charlotte instantly made me feel at ease and has continued to support my journey through the English Education system. Charlotte has always placed me in the key stage I am comfortable with and in the catchment area we agreed on at my initial interview. I have been in continuous employment throughout my time with Charlotte, however having to take time off has never been a problem. Working with Charlotte has been a positive, honest and enjoyable experience. I hope our paths will meet again."
