A well-established Secondary School in Blackpool is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis. The position itself is working 1:1 with a student who needs additional support to remain on task. This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a progressive school with an ethos of working with the students in a positive and encouraging way to help them achieve to the best of their ability. The successful applicant will have a patient and caring disposition; with the ability to quickly build meaningful relationships with students and their staff team.

The role will include:
* Supporting the student(s) both in the lesson and during break times
* Managing behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy and positive handling plans
* Working proactively with other team members including the class teacher, other teaching assistants, and support staff
* Ensuring the safeguarding of students at all times


Requirements:
* Experience of working with young people with SEMH/SEBD/SEND needs
* Be comfortable in managing challenging behaviour
* Ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people
* Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style
* To be able to provide a nurturing and caring connection with the vulnerable student
* Team Teach trained ideal (opportunity to train with Randstad if not)
