A very well established company based in Newport are looking for an Account Manager in Engineering to join the team ASAP.

The role will be based around building relationships with existing and new customers, there will be warm inbound enquiries and after training in their bespoke engineering products and services that the company provide, you will be referring these clients requests to the design team. Customer contact will be via telephone and email and will lead to being able to provide quotes on bespoke mechanical projects. Your role will be to quote, establish a relationship with the customer, provide clear cost information and liaise with other departments to create an initial design to send to the client. Once agreed, the design and engineering team will begin creating the finished products and you will manage the client from start to finish, hopefully establishing a long lasting relationship.

Main Responsibilities:

* Receive customer enquiries and acknowledge receipt
* Review and evaluate customer requirements, including technical specifications
* Liaise with Engineering, Production, Quality & Purchasing Departments
* When required, obtain labour costs and machining times from TVL Operations
* When necessary, obtain material or service costs from vendors
* Generate quotations in line with customer requirements
* Negotiating tender and contract terms & conditions to meet both client and company needs
* Quotation follow-up calls
* Assume direct responsibility for allocated global territory (if applicable)
* Agree deadline extensions with customers when required

Specific Knowledge / Skills Competence:

* Customer focused - Establishing relationships
* Ability to read and understand technical specifications and engineering drawings
* Engineering qualification - NVQ/ City and guilds/ degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
* Knowledge of mechanical & process engineering principals
* Commercial and contract awareness
* Industry, application and product knowledge
* Work to deadlines
* Understanding of GPM
* Supply chain activities
* Good level of basic IT skills
* Conversant with ERP systems (ideally 'Visual')
