The Role

The job holder is on days facilitating and managing the operation of the administration department requirements at the Port Talbot & Llanwern plant.

To carry out this role successfully, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:



* Be familiar with and understand inspection requirements and standards used on a tier 1 COMAH facility
* Ensure files are organised & documents are prepared in a timely manner
* Answer telephones for Central Engineering and support personnel and customers when required.
* Scheduling of appointments, organise meetings and conferences.
* Manage office and departmental stationary budgets.
* Attend meetings and write minutes.
* Carry out administration duties in regards to health records for department team members.
* Timekeeping for department team members.


* Raising of requisition/orders for department.
* Support in the organisation of away days, events and other departmental arrangements.
* Maintain documents
* Be fluent in the use of TATA IT Systems, Excel, Word, SAP.
* Advises and works alongside Senior Manager, Engineers, and must have a strong team ethic at all times.
* Able to manage high volume of communications and information dissemination whilst carrying out normal day-to-day role as an Administrator.
* To cover for other administrator during. (Holiday periods)
* Fully understand and comply with the companies Health & Safety Policy and relevant duties.
* Ensures safe working practices and good house-keeping of jobs under his team's control.
* Promote the development and implementation of new administration techniques and systems
* Inspect and reports on all accidents and dangerous occurrences (RIDDOR).
* Drives departmental hire van as of when required. Carry out admin support around these vehicles.
* Keep informed of advances in Administration Techniques.
* To portray Central Engineering Asset Integrity Team as a highly professional organisation at all times.
* Maintains up to date records and filing systems. Also be able to use SAP on a daily basis
* To build up close relationships with, Asset Integrity, pre-engineering and site services teams, customers and ensure administration department supports
* To ensure AOP targets and Central Engineering goals are met.
* To be totally familiar and implement as appropriate the companies Health & Safety Policy and relevant statutory duties. 15 Key principles.

Requirements / Personal Specification



* NVQ, Diploma, ONC, HNC or equivalent in Business Administration.
* Administration experience in Engineering/steel manufacturing would be beneficial.
