Salary: £11.00 per hour

Location: Central Nottingham Based

Job Title: Admissions Officer

Contract Length : 3 months

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a short term contract working with one of the most established and well known educators in the Nottingham area. You will be tasked to deliver a gold standard service to internal and external customers by working to defined service levels and agreed standards. You will need to proactively contribute to the timely processing of applications using appropriate systems whilst ensuring full and thorough compliance with internal policy and procedures as well as external agent regulations / requirements.

Principal duties and responsibilities:



1 To act as a first point of contact for applicants (and their associated networks) and internal enquirers with regard to application enquiries. Ensuring information given is clear and accurate and that the 'advice and guidance' given to applicants is appropriate, consistent, robust and thorough.


1 To process applications and make decisions, or take other appropriate action, using approved entry criteria and agreed admissions processes. To escalate / refer non-standard applications as and when appropriate and follow up outstanding actions within agreed timescales.


1 To take ownership of allocated work and to be adaptable by working across the wider team to ensure the fluctuating resource requirements are accommodated throughout the cycle.


1 To ensure required data reconciliation activities are undertaken in agreed timelines and issues escalated where necessary.


1 To assess an applicant's suitability through a comprehensive understanding of the structure of entry requirements and admissions criteria using detailed and up to date knowledge of qualifications and their equivalences.


1 To ensure all applications are processed in line with admissions policy and procedures, including but not limited to:


* Criminal convictions
* Fee assessments
* Interviews / assessments
* Student support arrangements
* International Equivalences
* UKVI Regulations / Rules


1 To ensure strict personal compliance across all tasks with any external legislative requirements e.g. freedom of information, data protection, equal opportunities.


1 To engage and support a team ethos of continual improvement to ensure ongoing efficiency gains and a best practice approach at all levels.


1 To support any admissions related tasks as designated by the Co-ordinator/Team Leader/ Admissions Manager, including but not limited to:


* Widening Participation events
* Conversion of applicants
* Open Days
* Confirmation and Clearing

* The ability to work flexibly in an environment with competing demands and deadlines.
* Knowledge of admissions processes for foundation; undergraduate; postgraduate and/or international processes. (desirable)
* An understanding of international student recruitment issues. (desirable)
* Good operational knowledge of Banner and CRM. (desirable)
* Experience of working in a busy Admissions environment, within the Education sector. (desirable)
