Cosma Casting UK a manufacturing facility located in Telford, UK are looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME). Cosma Casting UK will specialise in manufacturing high vacuum, high pressure die-castings of medium to large Structural Automotive components.

Position Summary:

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) is responsible for:-

Role Responsibilities:

* Leading the development of new manufacturing processes
* Develop process concepts that include specification of equipment, tooling and score criteria for the technical selection of purchased equipment/tooling
* Prepare and update equipment/tooling Statement of Requirement (SORs)
* Identify applicable suppliers with Purchasing Dep't and execute contract requirements
* Identify new suppliers and verify capabilities using technical comparisons
* Summarise equipment and installation costs for quoting new business
* Standardise machine components to minimise spare parts inventory costs
* Lead the CapEx for purchasing of equipment and manage timing and budget
* Lead Machine FMEAs for major equipment, with particular emphasis on Ergonomics
* Design equipment layouts to Lean principles, optimising product flow and VSMs
* Develop pre-production packaging solutions for WIP and Finished Goods
* Review the equipment/tooling drawing/design and approval process with suppliers
* Manage and document equipment testing both at supplier & on-site at CCUK :- Final Acceptance Testing (FAT)
* Prepare and present documentation for program review meetings
* Lead and coordinate with Department Heads in preparation of RFQs and proposals
* Project management of suppliers. This may involve overseas travelling and working outside "normal" UK working hours, to cover time zone differences
* Participate in root-cause analysis and implement counter-measures
* Utilise 2D & 3D FEA simulations, AR and VR to improve layouts/designs
* Complete understanding of dimensional capability statistics and GD&T
* Force POKE YOKE into designs to prevent pass-through failures




* Experience in mechanical engineering of the Automotive/Aerospace supply chain
* Bachelor's Degree preferred with an Engineering focus
* Familiar with the SOR process
* Proven experience in leading the FMEA process for major equipment/tooling
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages
* Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with customers

* In-depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and how to apply them in practice
* Six sigma
* Root Cause Analysis
* Project management experience
