Are you an experienced Social Worker within Children's Social Services? Are you passionate about ensuring the families you work with have the right social worker for them and receive the help they need? If so, Cumbria County Council are looking for an Advanced Practitioner Social Worker to work on the ASYE programme and mentor ASYE and Social work staff within the authority. This role is based in Workington, West Cumbria.

The contract is initially 3 months however, may be extended.

You will be working within a supportive team with a committed leadership team which is focused on improving the outcomes of families across West Cumbria.

As an Advanced Practitioner working with ASYE's you will be responsible for the day to day management of ASYE's with a safeguarding caseload. This is an excellent and rewarding opportunity to develop your career and also help with the development of recently newly qualified staff.

This is a full time role which is 37 hours per week. The majority of staff work 5 days per week however, we always have the option of condensing your hours and working 4 days per week.

The successful candidate can expect fantastic pay, up to £38 per hour!

As an Advanced Practitioner within the support and protection teams you will be responsible for:

* Supporting newly qualified Social Workers during their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment and beyond in Children's Social Care.
* Having a focus on Social Workers spending more time with families practicing and sharing responsibility for cases.
* Developing practice skill and knowledge as you will provide the highest level of professional support to newly qualified Social Workers and those in their second year of practice.
* Developing practices, policies, procedures that will underpin the development and delivery of the ASYE programme and post qualification support embedding the Chief Social Workers Knowledge and Skills Statements.
* You will be up to date with the children's social work reform agenda and have a proven record of supporting others.
