We are currently recruiting for a Site Manager. Are you looking for a new contract in Kent?

* Location: Folkestone, Kent
* Contract type: Freelance (With potential for permanent)
* Start date: October 2017
* Duration: 54 weeks
* Salary/Rate: £225 per day (dependant upon experience)

The Company

They are a main contractor based in West Sussex and they out new build and refurbishment projects throughout the South East typical project values range from £100k to £4m.

Their team are experienced in most industry sectors, from residential and commercial new builds and extensions through to the alteration and refurbishment of schools and churches.

The Project

The project is in the very early stages of constructing a 5 storey steel frame mixed use development in Folkestone. The project requires a stand alone manager to take the project through to completion.

The Role

Reporting in to a visiting Contracts Manager you will be responsible for all day to day management including up to and handover. Your role will include but not be limited to:

* Chair progress meetings with subcontractors and senior management
* Plan and programme site works
* Manage subcontractors quality and ensure that defects are cleared prior to final inspection.
* Coordinate directly employed trades to complete snags and keep a detailed report of work carried out and completed.
* Order any required materials and plant via the office to ensure works can be completed in a timely fashion.
* Promote health & safety and safe methods of working.
* Provide regular progress updates to the Senior Site Manager.

About You

* You will have gained circa 2+ years experience, ideally working for a main or principal contractor.
* Have the correct CITB qualifications for the position.
* Be able to control multiple subcontractor packages and direct labour.
* Recent and relevant experience.
* Strong organisational skills with proven time management skills.
