Being a district nurse comes with certain responsibilities including:

* Providing the most attentive care for patients
* Liaising with a team of nurses at the start of the day
* Travelling and visiting patients in their homes
* Dealing with differing needs

A district nurse is a highly skilled role demanding many essential and desirable skills such as:

* Compressions
* Catheters (M, F & SP)
* Wound Care
* Blood Pressure
* Leg Ulcer Management
* Cannulation
* Venepuncture
* Injections

This list is not exhaustive and any additional nursing competencies would be highly advantageous.
