Randstad Student & Worker Support are looking for reliable and committed Study Assistants to work with students at University of Bedfordshire (Luton Campus).

As a student support worker you will carry out various activities for students who due to their disability find it difficult to carry out these activities themselves.

For this particular student we do need someone who has a Fashion Design background or at least a strong understanding and the ability to carry out related tasks.

Responsibilities:

Providing Study Assistant support your responsibilities will include:

* Collecting pattern paper from the roll
* Cutting patterns from paper.
* Drawing straight lines with a metre ruler and helping with drafting for large pattern pieces.
* Pinning pattern pieces to fabric and cutting the pattern pieces from the fabric.
* Draping on the stand and pinning higher parts of the fabric to the stand to create designs/garments.
* When giving presentations, holding work and helping put garments onto the stands/models.

This role will be for 1.5 full days (full day = 6 hours) per week. Days are TBC depending on student's timetable.

You will work closely with Randstad regarding the needs of individual students, and to ensure that any concerns are addressed in a timely manner. You will be expected to act professionally and maintain confidentiality within your role at all times, sharing all relevant information with Randstad to ensure the best possible service to your students.

* You will need to be able to work quickly and under time restrictions
* Good organisational skills
* A background in Fashion Design (preferably degree level)
