Are you looking for a new exciting opportunity in credit control? Are you seeking a fast paced and varied position where no two days are the same? Our Client, one of the leading building merchants groups is seeking a Credit Controller to join their Head Office in Coventry.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Credit Services Team Leader, the Credit Controller is responsible for managing the credit risk on a defined debtor list.

This involves the collection of overdue accounts, timely & effective follow up of short payments, credit limit assessment & setting effective query management.

Responsibilities

* To effectively contribute to the 'collection performance' and minimise the risk of bad debts thus maximising the Company's overall debtor performance.
* To manage and mitigate the risk relating to customer credit limits
* To authorise credit limit increases, in line with risk management activity and company procedure.
* Provide outstanding levels of customer service to internal and external customer
* Maximise sales opportunities within a defined customer base by effectively managing credit limits
* Build good working relationships within internal and external customers
* Follow up quickly and effectively any short payments made by customers.
* To address and update all stop maintenance and over trading issues in accordance with Company policy and procedures
* Effectively contribute to the handling of all incoming and outgoing calls to ensure they are dealt with in a professional manner and meet agreed Company targets
* Undertake administrative duties as appropriate and ensure the system is updated accordingly e.g. copy invoice and statement requests
* Managing and monitor the customer query database, ensuring queries are addressed and resolved efficiently and effectively

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

* Experience within a credit control environment or finance related field.
* Excellent telephone manner, strong customer service skills
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to deal with large workload
* Ability to prioritise workload efficiently
* Able to work well in a team environment
* Computer literate, competent with MS office
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Flexible attitude

This role offers excellent training and a great working environment. The position is working between the hours of 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday starting as soon as possible.

£20,000 per anum.
