An exciting opportunity has arisen for driven and able Head of Finance and Resources to join a small women's health charity in central London.

The charity funds medical research to find cures, treatments and preventions in women's reproductive health and childbirth.

The Role

Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Executive, the Head of Finance and Resources is responsible for the day-to-day management of the charity's operations, finance and IT functions (including databases) and for providing sound financial advice.

Working closely with Trustees and the Audit and Investment Committees, the Head of Finance and Resources will ensure timely, accurate, and reliable management of all finance matters.

Description

* Provision of robust financial advice to the Chief Executive, the Board of Trustees and other senior management colleagues
* Co-ordination, including attendance and document preparation, for the quarterly meetings with the Trustees and Audit Committee meeting and bi-annual Investment Committee meeting
* Support and co-operation with the committee members throughout the year
* Membership and key role within the senior management team
* Delivery of timely and complete financial reporting, including management accounts and cash flow forecasting
* Preparation of the statutory accounts and liaison with auditors
* Administration of grant payments and close liaison with the Research Manager
* Oversight of the HR function (including payroll), IT and Office management, ensuring that Wellbeing of Women complies with data compliance as well as all other statutory and external requirements and regulations
* Responsibility for ensuring that appropriate insurance cover is in place for property, assets and personnel

Personal Specification

* Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CIPFA)
* Proven track record of influencing at director level
* Strong experience with financial reporting - including statutory accounts and monthly management accounts
* Ability to mange work load effectively
* Desire to have a 'hands on' approach to the role and charity
