A newly created opportunity has arisen for an experienced commercially focused energetic Financial Controller to join a large highly regarded, fast paced multi site business.

The role will suit a self-starter, keen to progress in an evolving and growing business with a proven track record of managing a large team. The candidate must have a proven track record of developing a solid commercial understanding and working closely with and influencing operational and commercial teams, often to a senior level. This role is key to ensuring that the finance team is immersed in the day to day business operations, driving success and challenging the business.

* Lead the year-end preparation of files with lead schedules, working papers and supporting documents for annual audit to a very high standard
* Work closely with the Finance Director to deliver and analyse quality and accurate financial information and assist with driving the business to understand the information and provide performance, strategic and risk insight to the Senior Management Team
* Production of timely management information to support the board, FD and general decision making across the business
* Developing and implementing key business processes, procedures and controls across the business ensuring first class service throughout
* A key player in the budgeting and forecasting process
* Liaise with Financial Reporting Manager and Group Reporting on technical reporting matters, new group reporting directives and GAAP releases with follow up actions as appropriate
* Driving consistent improvement to current processes and procedures
* Overhead and cost base analysis
* Business partnering a range of internal stakeholders to drive profitability up and cost base down
* Cash flow forecasting

This is a great opportunity for a qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) commercially minded finance professional with experience in managing staff and stakeholders. You will have the persona to quickly command respect, the communication and interpersonal skills to manage expectations, influence and converse confidently at all levels.

* Qualified senior finance professional with a number of years' experience in a fast moving and dynamic commercial environment
* Experienced in managing a team of staff with a varied background, skills and qualifications
* Extensive knowledge and exposure to financial controls, external and internal audits and financial reporting
* A good level of understanding of the preparation of corporate tax and capital allowance returns
* A good level of exposure to VAT compliance and reporting
