Are you looking to help support older/ vulnerable residents by receiving and answering calls providing support and encouragement to people? A successful and growing Public Sector Organisation is looking to take on an enthusiastic and empathetic individual.

An Enhanced DBS and Valid Driving Licence is mandatory

Your Package

* Working hours: 22.5hrs - 30hrs per week
* £9.49 per hour
* Work a shift system to include Day / Night rota and Lone Working.

Your Responsibilities

* Delivering a high quality of personal care and supporting the emotional and physical needs of service users
* Receiving and answering calls / alerts from Assistive Technology users, contractors, locally based staff, managers and other internal and external bodies, prioritising responses where necessary
* Assessing and identifying the nature and reason for the call, fostering a rapport and acting to reassure the caller, appreciating that there may be a degree of impairment or communication difficulties
* To communicate the importance of maintaining healthy living patterns to Service Users and encourage them to make healthy choices i.e. by maintaining a healthy diet and taking regular exercise.
* Encouraging service users to exercise their own choices and formulate their own decisions where possible.
* Providing support, encouragement and practical assistance to enable people to carry out activities of daily living
* To maintain up to date, detailed and accurate records regarding the service provided to people.
* To record and report any problems or concerns regarding a Service User immediately to senior staff member
* To collect and deliver equipment to premises across the borough. To act as an escort on day opportunities transport as required.
* Liaise with internal and external staff and contractors

Your Skills and Experience

* An Enhanced DBS and Driving License is MANDATORY
* NVQ/QCF 2/ Care Certificate
* Previous experience of working in a care setting/environment
* Have a friendly telephone manner
* Strive to build their confidence and establish a trusting relationship with them and that of their family and other informal carers. To provide informal and emotional support to people
