Randstad Engineering have a fantastic opportunity for a strategic sourcing Category Buyer specialist to join the Procurement Team for one of our leading concrete manufactures. If you are business minded with a potential passion for supply chain and procurement within Engineering, we have the perfect role for you!


As one of our Category Buyers, you will play a key role working in close collaboration with our internal and external stakeholders to manage the end-to-end procurement and commercial requirements for specific spend categories, in particular, the Production division, with the support of our Senior Category Managers.

About the role
You will be working with end-users and internal departments to develop specifications,whilst developing your ability to create annual category strategies and execution plans including spend, market and supplier analysis. This exciting career progressing role also involves the management of tenders, supplier and contract award/ implementation process.

Other key deliverables include:
- Keeping up-to-date on performance targets through the maintenance of monthly progress reports
- Identifying opportunities to rationalise and reduce the number of suppliers to an optimum level
- Organising and running regular review meetings with end-users, stakeholders and suppliers

- A professional approach to all stakeholders, with a real customer-focus
- Great organisational skills, especially around workload planning and consistently delivering to timescales
