We are currently recruiting a support worker to work within a supported living environment in Astley. This service has been specifically designed and built to provide the highest standards of care and well being to adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems.

As a residential support worker, your role will be to enable the service users to live as independent and fulfilling as possible. This will include positive risk taking- for example, enabling service users to prepare their own breakfast or get dressed in the morning. With the appropriate risk assessments in place you can create a strong sense of independence.

You will be required to support the service users to reach their own goals and engage in activities that interest them, assisting with outdoor activities or visits to amusement parks. If you are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of others I think you will find this role extremely rewarding.

Your responsibilities will also include:

* Supporting the service users with evening/morning routines and ensuring privacy and dignity are respected at all times. This will include supporting service users with intimate levels of personal care.
* Supporting service users to develop daily living skills. This can include everything from encouraging them to write a shopping list to helping them prepare a Sunday lunch. Activities should be made fun and engaging.
* Being able to work flexibly, not only with regards to rota patterns but also the ways in which you support the service users.
* Prompting residents to take medication where appropriate and administering medication if necessary
* Supporting service users with day-to-day activities, both indoors and outside

The service offers competitive pay rates and a very comprehensive training package. If you have not done so already, you will be supported through your QCF level 2 in Health and Social Care.

As a support worker with randstad you will receive amazing benefits such as:

* Access to a competitive 'refer-a-friend' scheme: receive £300 in vouchers for every successful referral
* Exclusive discounts for your favourite high street stores via our brand new mobile app
* A unique system for offering shifts, giving you full control over the hours you work
* Free comprehensive ongoing training and support

We require that applicants have at least 6-months experience within the care sector. The service prides itself on delivering consistently high levels of person-centred support, achieved through a genuinely passionate and engaged team. If you have a passion for working with adults with learning disabilities and you want to make a difference to their lives then please apply now- we would love to hear from you!
