Stimulating new opportunity for a Consultant Ecologist to join a vibrant, well-established ecology team based in Birmingham!!!

A leading consultancy is seeking a Consultant Ecologist with a wide range of experience in field survey techniques and experience of reporting and managing or co-ordinating small projects. You will have made good progress towards gaining protected species licences, and may have a species specialism (such as birds, barn owl or badgers). You will enjoy working with other ecologists and developing new skills. This is a fantastic opportunity to further your career within an established and successful consultancy.

* Conduct field surveys
* Manage and co-ordinate small projects
* Depending on your preference, field and office work can be tailored to suit your career aspirations as a wide range of roles and projects are available


* You will have a BSc and / or MSc in a biological or environment-related discipline
* You will have excellent field skills and a keen interest and understanding of British wildlife
* Have undertaken a wide range of habitat and protected species field surveys
* Have undertaken some co-ordination and/or management of field surveys
* Hold one or more protected species survey licences, or otherwise be in the process of developing experience to support a licence application
* Have good writing skills with some experience of producing ecological reports and/or other deliverables
* Organised, pro-active, reliable and willing to travel between project sites
* Hold a Full Driving Licence
* You will show evidence of ongoing vocational training
* Ideally, you will be eligible for or have full membership of CIEEM
