Assistant Teacher/Learning Mentor

Are you a graduate with experience working with children with special educational needs?

We have an exciting opportunity for someone looking for the next step in their career within the education sector

We are looking for a full time, enthusiastic and committed Assistant Teacher/Learning Mentor due to the growth and development within the school.

We are looking for outstanding Assistant Teacher/Learning Mentor who will be involved in supporting the delivery of all aspects of the school's curriculum, in line with the school's curriculum policies. The Assistant Teacher/Learning Mentor will work in a wide range of settings, including in the classroom, the outdoor curriculum, and possibly craft sessions, sports, swimming and outdoor break times.

Initially this position will be to support the transition of pupils into the school setting, working 1:1 on programmes working towards classroom integration over time and to facilitate the building of positive and appropriate relationships with peers.

We are looking for :

* Someone educated to Degree level in a relevant subject and/or education
* Experience within a special SEN school/unit experience for a minimum of 2 years
* Waldorf qualification and/or experience or willingness to learn and incorporate in practice
* Outstanding communication skills
* Experience of working with SEN pupils and pupils with challenging behaviour
