Are you looking for an exciting role within a specialist school with the opportunity for career progression?


We are recruiting for a permanent learning support assistant to work on a full time basis within an independent specialist school. The school offers excellent facilities and provides a full and varied curriculum as well as a wide range of therapies.


The school are looking for an enthusiastic and an experienced individual who is able to contribute effectively in a calm and positive manner. The school caters for students between the ages of 6-19 years of age with a variety of special educational needs. Under the guidance of the class teacher you will be required to provide consistent and reliable support to small groups of students , or to specific students on a one to one basis. You will be involved in supporting the delivery in all aspects of the school's curriculum. The focus of this role is the building of positive and appropriate relationships with a pupil or pupils. This may mean dealing with challenging behaviour.


We are looking for someone with;

* Experience of working with children and/or young adults with special educational needs
* A passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning
* Experience in dealing effectively with challenging behaviour
* An interest in helping deliver life skills, crafts, PE and drama as well English and numeracy
