Are you an Accounting & Control Manager looking for a new/fresh opportunity?

Would you like to be part of a new team based in London Canary Wharf?

Summary of the role:

We are looking for someone who will be responsible for managing an area within the Accounting & Control team. The role will be part of a team of 10 people, including 8 Specialists, 1 Supervisor and 1 Manager operating in Canary Wharf.

The role will partner with other teams within the Operations Finance team to identify & implement process improvements and the role will be targeted with driving improvements in KPI performance and reducing exception-handling for the teams involved in the processes. The current operations involve a considerable amount of reactive transactional firefighting, and this role will be tasked with driving process improvements & reducing the company's query-handling.

The Accounting & Control Manager will ensure timeliness and accuracy of the financial results and will work closely with the FP&A team who will analyse them against forecasted expectations. The role will also be responsible for ensuring that Operations Finance controls are met.

The role reports to the Director of Accounting & Control who is accountable for the accuracy and completeness of the financial statements for all of the in-scope offices.

The Accounting & Control Manager will be expected to work under their own initiative as their direct manager will be frequently based at other sites. Key stakeholders will include UK&I Leadership, FP&A team, General Managers and HODs, Corporate Functional Leads, Compliance Team.

You will need to have:

* Part Qualified Accountant - preferred
* Relevant and progressive work experience in Accounting or Finance.
* Ability to analyze large volume of complex financial information from many sources and create reports, forecasts, and projections.
* Strong problem-solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems; ability to help develop problem solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate.
* Ability to manage and develop staff.
* Ability to develop presentations and effectively present to all levels of company.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills (all levels of management and external customers).
* Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to quickly learn new programs when required.
