Model Designer required on a permanent basis to join an industry leading engineering and business.

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity at the forefront of motorsport technology? Do you have a background strategically controlling the design and development of components and systems? Have you got experience of working in a fast paced engineering environment? If you are seeking an exciting challenge then this is the role for you!

As a model designer you will be responsible for the detail design activities related to model and development components and assemblies that will be used within the context of the wind tunnel test environment. You will ensure that parts are designed in a timely manor for wind tunnel tests and development programs within the department.

Each project offers the opportunity to work on the design and development of models to meet the latest race targets, with world-class levels of quality and reliability. You will be part of a small, friendly team working together to deliver programmes that are critical to the long-term success of a respected and successful race team.

Experience required:

* Provide wind tunnel test part designs of a high quality
* Through good design reducing lead times and/or reduce model change time
* Detail design of components and assemblies used in the Wind Tunnel testing and development of F1 car aerodynamic surfaces.
* Development of materials used within the Aerodynamics Department to produce both cost and time effective solutions
* Communicate effectively with external groups such as suppliers
* Execute the day-to-day tasks, including keeping aero tracking systems up to date.
* Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects.
* To work in a professional manner at all times regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department / team/ sponsors.

Deliverables:

* Produce 3D models of components and assemblies
* Produce 2D drawings of components and assemblies
* Produce necessary calculations to show suitability of designs.
* Plan own work to be able to achieve set deadlines.
