Are you an Architect / Part 2 Architectural Assistant with good experience of heritage-led, conservation projects? I am currently recruiting for a new Architect / Part 2 Architectural Assistant role at a Portsmouth-based practice that work across a range of sectors. This would be the perfect move to gain a broad range of experience and to progress your career prospects.

The company brief:

This relatively small, heritage-orientated practice are based near the dockyard of Portsmouth and have an exciting portfolio of conservation, conversion and new build projects across the south of the UK. They are looking to take on a new Architect / Part 2 Architectural Assistant to aid them with their growing portfolio of heritage projects, which include listed houses, museums, public sector and developer led schemes. The ideal candidate should have proven experience with listed buildings, Vectorworks and SketchUp.

Your new role:

As an experienced Architect / Part 2 Architectural Assistant, you will have excellent design and creativity skills and will need to be capable of working on planning applications, doing detailed technical designs and have a strong eye for design. You will have a dynamic workload of heritage projects and being able to remain calm and work well under pressure is key. You should be proficient with Vectorworks and SketchUp and familiarity with Photoshop would also be ideal. With a calm and intimate atmosphere to the company, someone with a good, personable character would be well suited.

About you:



* An Architect / Part 2 Architectural Assistant with strong experience in Vectorworks and SketchUp is deemed essential to progress your application.
* Ideally with proven experience in a UK practice and a sound understanding of the UK Building Regulations (particularly for Listed Buildings) and Planning Applications.
* Excellent levels of technical detailing and a keen eye for design.
* Solid time management skills and the ability to handle multiple jobs.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Be able to work on your own initiative as well as supporting others in the team.
* Living locally to the practice and driving are ideal.
