Architectural Technician

Leeds
Perm role
Full-time hours

Our client has been developing commercial and residential property across the UK for over forty years, since then they have grown to be one of the most dynamic and leading developers in the industry who are diverse and expert at what they do.
They provide an array of services within the market that many competitors cannot match.
Due to the continued growth of the company they now wish to recruit and appoint an Architectural Technician with immediate effect.

Role profile:
Our client has secured a number of commercial and residential commissions and are actively seeking to recruit an architectural assistant who is competent, efficient and has a positive work attitude.
The role will be to support the other members of the team, undertake surveys, develop design proposals, collate technical information and accompany senior members of staff on site visits. There will be opportunity for you to develop within a fully collaborative, enthusiastic team offering a competitive salary commensurate with skill level and experience.

Criteria:
The successful candidate will have:
· A good understanding of building construction and detailing including current English Building Regulations.
· Experience in compiling and submitting Planning and Building Control Applications.
· Experience in compiling working drawings, liaising with contractors and preparing construction information packages.
· Experience in dealing with construction consultants.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent presentation skills with a sharp eye for detail.
· Ability to take on responsibility, meet project deadlines and work collaboratively to meet company targets.

Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience within development in a housing environment

Up to date relevant knowledge of building legislation

Understanding of local government

Up to date relevant knowledge of Health and Safety legislation

A background working for a major housing developer would be advantageous for this role

Essential Criteria:
· Relevant experience.
· Proficient in the use of AutoCAD.
