Assistant Accountant - Guildford GU2- Permanent

Our Client is a multinational House Building company seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their Successful Team based in Guildford. Being one of the largest House Building companies in the world, this position is not one to be missed.

Our Client is recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team, with approximately 100 staff including a finance team of six/seven.

With the business unit contributing to the delivery of 3,000 homes, the role will be responsible for managing all the purchase ledger requirements of the business unit, ensuring weekly paid employees time sheets are submitted, keeping cashbooks updated and providing all round support and back up for the rest of the finance team. The role will be reporting directly to the Financial Controller.

Your Responsibilities Include:

* Weekly payroll for site workers
* Collation of time sheets
* Checking SSC report for accuracy
* Maintenance of excel cash book including communicating Oracle accounts coding to the Shared Service Centre.
* Processing/Querying Purchase orders & payment requests
* Liaising with the shared service centre to ensure payments made as required
* Coordinating with other departments to process urgent payments
* Ensuring payment reports are appropriately authorised
* Producing weekly sales reports
* Performing ad hoc tasks as required
* Processing of legal completions onto Oracle to include:
* Checking completion statements
* Setting customers up in Oracle
* Setting up deal sheets within Oracle
* Ensuring legal completions correctly processed
* Generation of sales invoices directly onto Oracle Accounts Receivable system
* Dealing with other ad hoc requests from the finance team as required..


* General all-round experience within busy finance department, including the above duties
* Oracle (and/or Coins) and housebuilding experience desired but not essential.
* Some experience of working with a finance/accounts system essential
* Working towards an accounting qualification eg. AAT desirable,
* Excellent communication skills
* Enthusiastic, works well in a team and a willingness to learn
* Reasonable excel skills (competent sorting large amounts of data eg Pivots & lookups)
