What are your responsibilities?
Creating and monitoring EHC plans and provision maps with class teachers and learning support assistantsAnnual reviews.Participate in and carry out Performance Management of designated staffLiaise with the Educational Psychology service and other specialist and support agenciesUpdate the head teacher and governing body on the effectiveness of provision for specified groups within the schoolKeep parents informed about their child's progress through individual meetings and at parents' eveningsTo attend appropriate training, CPD and conferences and provide feedback to colleagues.To keep abreast of developments in SEND (e.g. research, changes to the law) and inform staff and Governors as necessaryTo be aware of and update colleagues, as appropriate to comply with current legislation and policies affecting practice, e.g. Children's ActTo support staff with positive behaviour managementTo work strategically with the Academy Council, Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher in the future growth of the school
What is required?
Qualified Teacher Status with outstanding leadership experience Knowledge of curriculum and demonstrated ability to support and develop staff and studentsExcellent ambition and people skills
