job description

Are you an experienced Project Manager looking to work within the Public Sector/Government? Blaenau Gwent council are looking for a temporary full time Project Manager to oversee client projects on time, on budget and at a very high standard from stages one through to completion within the council's services.

The successful candidate will also have proven skills and experience within project management. It would also be advantageous for the candidate to have experience managing multiple projects or tasks and work with a multi-disciplined team.

Responsibilities:



* Co-ordinate all aspects of the Blaenau Gwent Legacy Programme, including preparation on quarterly claims, financial management, internal reporting and communication with project leads.
* Ensure all identified lead partners are engaged and are delivering projects in line with the approved programme.
* Establish and implement robust monitoring arrangements, aligned with Welsh Government requirements; ensuring project leads complete update reports, record outcomes and associated financial spend.
* Undertake the procurement, commissioning, instructing of "project leads" to instigate agreed Legacy Activity; ensuring effective delivery and monitoring.
* Maintain regular communication with relevant Lead Delivery Bodies (LDB) and staff to ensure activities moving forward are aligned where necessary and reflective of local priorities and needs.
* Ensure progress is reported regularly for endorsement and approval; using internal reporting mechanisms; to relevant groups including DMT, CMT, Thriving and Vibrant and Public Service Board
* Retain an up to date knowledge and have access to key data, statistics and policies that supports need and the business cases to take forward initiatives.
* Establish strong internal and external working relationships to maximise collaborative opportunities and joint working; ensuring the three E's (empowerment, employment and early years) are considered across wider Regeneration initiatives and are complimentary to emerging Welsh Government programmes.





you must have:



* Experience within staff supervision and line management
* Proven experience of working at senior level within a relevant environment
* Significant experience working strategically within community regeneration field
* Degree or equivalent in a Regeneration related field or demonstrable experience
* Management qualification HND or equivalent
* Experience of identifying and prioritising projects through a collaborative approach
* Experience of coordinating and leading strategic multi agency initiatives within a related field
* Strong written and oral communication skills
