Athletics Director and PE Teacher
Start Date: August 2019
Location: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
Region: Far East and South East Asia
Curriculum: IB PYP, Cambridge, IB DP
Experience: 3+ years
Sponsorship: Single or married teachers with dependents
Salary: Salary is internationally compatible and tax-free
Contract: 3 years renewable

School Vision / Ethos: This not-for-profit school in Central Asia opened in September 2011 providing an inclusive international style education accredited with Cambridge International Examinations as well as with the International Baccalaureate (IB). It has offered the IB Primary Years Programme, IB Middle Years Programme and IB Diploma Programme since September 2016. The school has over 140 students age 2 to 16, with plans in place for expansion up to age 18 and doubling student numbers. An extra-curricular programme is offered and all teachers are expected to play a role in it.

Role requirements:



* Oversee all sports programs for the school, encouraging other staff to take coaching responsibilities and ensuring engagement in sports by as many students as possible in both extra-curricular activities and school sports teams.
* Represent the school in the international schools' sports associations in Bishkek and Central Asia.
* Ensure the school is well represented in inter school sports tournaments with both girls and boys teams at both junior varsity and varsity level for cross country, basketball, football, and volleyball if possible.
* Lead sports team visits to other schools for tournaments, including international trips.
* Lead weekend sports events for inter-school football and team coaching.
* Act as a role model in sportsmanship at all times.
* IB PE teaching responsibilities in line with Athletics Director role

Regional Overview: Kyrgyzstan is a really beautiful country and from Bishkek the most breath taking trips to the mountains and lakes are easily accessible. Requirements: Qualifications must have been obtained at an accredited University or Teacher's Training College in the United Kingdom, Australia, North America, New Zealand or South Africa. Candidates should ideally have at least 2 years successful experience as a teacher and at least a familiarity with the IB PYP/MYP Programme. Experience of leading Athletics within an International School will be advantageous. They are looking for teachers with a genuine enjoyment of working with children and proven ability to enable a wide range of children to develop their academic and social potential and the ability to plan strategically, to set and meet deadlines and to implement plans. Native fluency in spoken and written English, other European and Central Asia language skills are an advantage.
