Are you a behaviour mentor looking or an inspirational teaching assistant looking for a new role? Can you make a positive impact teaching 1:1 and supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities?
Randstad Education currently works with specialist schools in the Wirral and Sefton area. We seek to recruit passionate Learning Support Assistants to work alongside children and young people with a multitude of Special Needs starting as soon as possible.
We can offer this role to work initially on a contract basis, however there is scope for this position to move to permanent for the right candidate. Previous experience of working in schools or working with young people with challenging behaviours is desirable, however is not essential.
The Role
You will be working with children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs; MLD, SEMH, SLD, Autism, ADHD, Down's Syndrome and Physical Disabilities. The school is looking for a creative, confident and resilient behaviour mentor that can build positive learning relationships with young people and children.
Suitable Behaviour Mentor candidates:
- Previous experience of working in schools or with SEND pupils is desirable. (however suitable social work, care, tutor or sports coaching experience will be considered for the right candidate)
- Will be confident, creative, flexible, proactive, resilient, patient and nurturing in their approach.
- Will be able to manage behaviour effectively and build positive learning relationships.
- Available to work as soon as possible
