Behaviour Support Worker

Leeds

Full Time

A wonderful alternative provision, who cater for students with Social Emotional Mental Health needs are looking for a BSW to work with them on a temporary contract. This role is with a view to extend for the right candidate.

The role will play a pivotal part in ensuring the students are kept on task, are learning to their full capability, and are actively managing their behaviour.

Responsibilities



* Promoting good behaviour throughout the school
* Develop a clear understanding of the specific needs of the students
* Encourage pupils to interact and work cooperatively, ensuring they remain engaged in activities
* To work closely with the teacher to assist in the planning, development and delivery of all areas of the curriculum
* Take part in school initiatives to improve parent and carers participation in school and community activities

Requirements



* Is dedicated in seeing results and progress within pupils
* Is reliable and honest
* Can demonstrate a professional work ethic
* Ideally Team Teach trained , but not essential as training can be provided
* Able to identify and de-escalate situations as and when they arise
* Confident in the ability to assist effectively
* Can communicate well with parents, carers and teachers
* Is able to adapt to the learning style with the pupil
* Can demonstrate a creative and engaging learning path for the pupil
