Building Surveyor - £50k - South West London

ROLE

We are looking for a Building Surveyor with experience with major works to residential blocks and at least 3 years post qualification experience, to work with the existing team. Although based in the South West, there is the opportunity to work from any of our regional offices.


The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, inquisitive with professional experience behind them with good report writing skills. They must have in depth knowledge of defect diagnosis. The ideal candidate will also be versatile and keen to learn the ropes; they must take pride in their work as they will be dealing with lessees with the highest of expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a building surveyor to join a thriving Surveying company.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

MRICS (beneficial) - Building Surveying

Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience

Understanding of Residential Management legislation

Well developed interpersonal and oral communications skills

Lessee/client customer focus

Ability to work on own initiative

Good numerical skills

Diplomacy

Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure

IT skills including Specification software (we use NBS)

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

CLIENT CARE



* Liaise with property managers and clients to confirm the nature and extent of the works.
* Provide initial advice in order to secure instructions
* Attend meetings with Property Managers and clients
* Keep Property Managers up to date with progress

WORKS

Inspect property and draft schedules of works, specifications or reports.

Discuss draft specification or final report with client.

Finalise specification and obtain instructions to tender

Tender works

Prepare a tender report and recommendations to client

Assist with queries raised during s20 consultation process (s20 carried out by Property Managers)

When instruction received, to prepared Contract

Contract Administration

Liaise with outsourced CPM

GENERAL

Work as team player with existing team.

Report weekly/monthly progress to Associate Director/ Project Co-ordinator.

Build relationships and confidence with Property Managers.

Take responsibility for work.
