To search for and develop significant new accounts in the North East / Middle / South Regions, and by so doing exceed the annual sales budget

Please note successful candidates must have a degree in engineering

This is a field based role with one day in the Birmingham Office.

Responsibilities



* To research and develop new potential accounts in strategically defined market sectors, for the full product range, in order to exceed the annual sales budget.
* To visit potential hi-tech end users and generate both enquiries and market information. To respond to the former in a speedy and professional manner.
* To work in the geographical area as defined by the Business Development Director
* To assist the Business Development Director in preparing the annual sales budget for identified development accounts, broken down by market sector and product
* To build up personal working relationships by making regular and continued visits seeking enquiries and converting into firm orders
* To report to the Business Development Director any customer or market information that supports future sales.
* To use the offices of the Quality/Technical Manager in supporting customer requests for information and account development.
* To submit visit reports following structured customer interviews and to attend monthly Sales Meetings, giving information and support to account development.
* To manage on a day to day basis, the identification of new markets and products by:
* Quotations, samples, information follow-up and reporting
* Developing, reporting and following up on the leads generated
* Building up an information database.
* To ensure the full support of the Sales function by handling incoming calls in the absence of other Sales personnel.
* To process all sales orders to completion, ensuring that all documentary and regulatory requirements have been satisfied.
* To abide by the credit limits advised by Accounts

REQUIREMENTS:



* An engineering degree or experience within the metal industry
* A proven track record in sales, including developing new business
* Fantastic communication skills, ability to build rapport and develop relationships
* Competent in relevant IT packages especially Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
* Ability to learn internal systems
* Product/industry knowledge an advantage
* Proven ability to meet targets
* Time management
* Presentation and communication
* Being enthusiastic, ambitious and confident
* Being thorough and motivated
* Being professional, flexible and amicable
