Business Development Manager
Randstad are is very excited to be recruiting for a Business Development Manager on a permanent basis to join an industry leading manufacturing business based in Peterborough.
Through this role, the successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to take part in, and have significant responsibility for, customer relationships guiding orders through the end-to-end design/development/manufacturing process for components and systems. This gives you true product and customer ownership and the opportunity to see your orders through to volume production.
You will play a key role in devising and developing the sales strategy for both the UK and internationally. You foster new and existing relationships to make a real difference to the success and future of the business.
The role:Build strong relationships with new and existing customers to enhance long-term business prospects.Work with members of other departments including engineers, manufacturing, purchasing, and directors to develop the requirements for opportunities/quotes to meet customer specifications.Prepare manufacturing cost estimates and formal quotationsManage request for quotes to ensure completeness, accuracy and meet submission deadlines.Negotiate sales by agreeing terms and conditions to satisfy customer's needs regarding quality, price and delivery.
Essential experience:Strong technical background (HND/BSc /B Eng or above preferred in mechanical engineering) though other qualifications / progressive industry experience will be considered.Proven experience in a sales engineering or business development role within and engineering / manufacturing business.Strong knowledge and experience in estimating costs and preparing quotationsDemonstrated customer / component ownershipWorking with key stakeholders both internally and externally to achieve results.Self-motivation and an ability to manage & deliver tasks to meet established commitments.Excellent communications skills & teamwork
