Are you a time-served multi-skilled engineer? Do you have a background in plant maintenance? Have you had experience supervising/ managing a team? If your answers are yes, this is the role for you!

Our client, a global manufacturer of building fabrics and sustainable energy solutions, is looking for an experienced multi-skilled maintenance engineer with a relevant apprenticeship and solid PLC fault-finding skills to manage a team of shift engineers at their Coventry site. The role is approximately 20% tools-based and is a great opportunity to work in a team environment that offers clear career progression.


* Reduce equipment breakdown duration and frequency.
* Ensure maintenance tasks are completed in a safe, timely and cost effective manner.
* Lead the completion of fault finding to determine root cause of failures and identify sustaining actions to prevent re-occurrence.
* Lead the completion of BDA and 5Whys as required.
* Control plant downtime by weekly analysis to ensure that performance is to budget. Issue monthly KPIs.
* Continually track expenditure to ensure understanding of costs and to challenge its need. Look for alternative solutions to any expenditure item.
* Ensure both internal and external servicing are controlled and completed to schedule.
* Liaise with both planning and operations departments to achieve the schedule of work.
* Support installations of new equipment and support special projects to provide technical knowledge for continuous improvement.
* Develop a team of highly trained maintenance engineers to ensure an efficient maintenance service is delivered to the site. Have an individual development plan for each engineer and complete monthly formal performance reviews with team 1 to 1.
* Liaise with the Central Engineering Manager reviewing plant and equipment and make recommendations for improvements or spend.
* Maintain and develop a spare parts system.
* Delivery a daily shift handover to the maintenance team.
* Develop knowledge on machines and systems.
* Keep workshop in a safe and organise manner following 5S principles.
* Driven by a culture of 'continuous improvement', participate in World Class Manufacturing AM/PM/5S/5Why projects.
* Lead or support improvement projects when nominated and offer possible projects.
* Work to achieve zero accidents.
* Adhere to and control all safety policies and regulations, while working within a safe system of work - includes adherence to all environmental policies and regulations.
* To challenge and report all unsafe actions and hazards and lead team in doing likewise.
* Take part in accident/incident investigations, helping to put in place solutions.
* Liaise with the Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to ensure that all activities undertaken comply with Health, Safety & Environmental Legislation.
* Coordinate with other sites and Chief Engineers to share safety lessons.


* Must have completed an apprenticeship/ NVQ level 3 in a relevant discipline.
* Ideally will have a degree, HND, or other formal higher qualification.
* Must have had experience working on plant equipment.
* Ideally will have PLC fault-finding experience on Allen Bradley.
