Job Role: Claims OfficerSalary: Up to £26ph Location: East LondonHours: 36 per week 9am - 5pmAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Claims Officer based in a Local Authority in East London. The successful candidate will need knowledge, skill and experience in the following areas: To support the Risk and Insurance Manager and Senior Claims Officer in providing a comprehensive claims handling service to the community, including repudiating or settling claims in accordance with current guidelines directly with the claimant or their representative.Work with the Head of Claims to ensure maximum flexibility to meet changes in litigation practice demands and priorities in order to deliver a quality front line service.Implement the prompt administration and investigate claims internally to enable legal liability to be decidedIn the absence of the Senior Claims Officer, and when delegated to do oversee some aspects of claims administration ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard. Adhere to protocols that detect and deter fraudulent & exaggerated claims. Promote effective financial management and the pursuit of value for money.SKILLSGood knowledge of claims management in the public sector.A good understanding of the role of key stakeholders e.g. brokers, underwriters etc.Knowledge of software applications such as LACHS, and in particular their report functions and capabilities.Good understanding of Microsoft office applications, and in particular, Excel and Word.Certificate in insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute or equivalent qualification in a related field (e.g. Law).Experience of claims management in the public sector.IT literate and keyboard skills with experience of using, Word, Excel and claims database software packages.Good organisational skills and be capable of achieving agreed deadlines and targets, whilst staying motivated and focused.Clients are looking to interview and shortlist shortly, so please submit your CV promptly for consideration.Please apply with submission of your CV and Chandani Jethwa from our London CPE office will be in touch.
