Are you an experienced Community Psychiatric Nurse who wants a role in which they can express their passion for working with adults with mental health conditions? If this sounds like you, read on! A team in Gateshead are looking for a Community Psychiatric Nurse to work for at least the next 5-6 months to carry a caseload within the community.

You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team based in Gateshead, whose primary focus is to provide the best possible outcomes and promote independence for mentally ill people living in the community.

As a Community Psychiatric Nurse, you will be responsible for working with a vulnerable client group who have mental health difficulties that fall within the non-psychosis bracket, who live within the wider Gateshead area.

You will be required to carry out assessments on service users new to the service, create and implement care plans, complete a discharge planning process and liaise frequently with other services, including substance misuse teams and social care teams.

This role requires the Community Psychiatric Nurse to work between 30-37.5hrs per week, over either 4-5 days (Monday to Friday). Working hours for this role are traditionally 9am-5pm, however longer working days will be considered, as long as lone working policies are not compromised.

This role will run until at least April 2019 and is likely to be extended beyond that, or an offer of permanent work within the NHS may be made.

To be successful in the role, you will need to demonstrate:
- An understanding of the complexities of providing Mental Health Care in the community
- Excellent written and verbal communication with individuals from both a clinical and non clinical background

The minimum requirements for this role are:
- NMC registered
- Nursing qualification (Mental Health)
