job description

On behalf of a Main contractor who has had a tremendous work winning year, we are keen to speak with experienced Project Managers who can deliver a diverse range of new build projects up to £40M across the Home Counties. (Herts, Beds, Bucks, Oxon)

Our client works within a wide range of sectors to include education, commercial, leisure, mixed use and industrial.

The Role:



* The successful candidate will oversee the successful delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring that the spec, target cost, quality and programme are achieved.

Duties will include:



* Input in to value engineering, identifying risks and cost saving opportunities
* Input into 2 stage tenders as part of the bid team, working to conclude a PCSA agreement where relevant.
* Provide direction, motivation and leadership to internal teams and external parties
* Be proactive with programme revisions, communicating the effects to all parties
* Work closely with the commercial team, reviewing and reporting on the financial position
* Review and approve project management plans
* Work closeley with design and commercial teams to ensure all teams promote and achieve the project goals
* Implement the correct monitoring and control mechanisms

Qualifications and Experience:



* Degree or HNC/HNC in construction discipline
* Proven background in delivering new build projects for a main contractor
* Good understanding of commercial and design issues

Attributes:



* Ability to work in a team to deliver a first class project
* Good management skills
* Good operational and time management skills
* Sound knowledge of a diverse range of constructing methods and standards
