job description

Cultural and Economic Development Project Manager

North London - £280.35 per day

An experienced project manager is required to support the setting up of the Cultural Leadership Programme

The Cultural Leadership Programme will support the Borough's vision for its legacy and impact by supporting 100 young people aged 16-25 to gain experiences of work in major cultural and creative institutions across London. This will assist their social mobility, giving them access to contacts and ultimately to access careers in the creative industries, which is largely inaccessible to people from diverse backgrounds. Participants will also take part in a Leadership Weekender and their involvement will culminate in Borough of Culture Young Leader accreditation.

The Project Officer will be specifically responsible for establishing the programme including:

* Overseeing coordination of the project
* Planning and delivery of Leadership Weekends and mentoring support
* Marketing and communications
* Managing payment of allowance and expenses for participants
* Developing accreditation for the leadership programme

Monitoring will be undertaken throughout the programme to measure the participation from target groups and to better understand how the programme can deliver excellence. The project officer will report to the Borough of Culture programme board and provide management information reports to their line manager on a regular basis.

The CLP will support the following strategies:

* Think Work; through delivery we aim to encourage exploration and exposure to the sector, leading to jobs in the creative industries.
* Life Chances Commission report; Activities and outcomes will support the findings of the report which makes recommendations towards accessing opportunities, career options, and information towards future options. In particular it will support the Opportunities Bank - possibly becoming a pilot for the scheme.
* Enterprising Councils activities; Supporting an enterprising approach, the programme will work with the Opportunities Bank to create a digital approach to customers in a digital age. The programme will attract commercial sponsorship and create new relationships with cultural institutions across London, creating opportunities for our residents and embedding partnership with the Council for the long-term.

Please apply with submission of your CV and Joe Chart from our London CPE office will be in touch. For more information and a confidential chat about the position, please do not hesitate to call us on 0203 680 0630.
