RESPONSIBILITIES:

Driving, developing and handling the Data Centre strategy.

Maintain relationships across technical and project teams within Technology Group to ensure Data Centre capability is considered during project development.

Work closely with other technology and business service teams to understand and influence decisions dependent on Data Centre services.

Own and develop the Data Centre Practice and it's relationships with internal and external customers.

Contribute to defining and delivering standards and targets related to SLAs and OLAs.

Act as subject matter expert for the company in relation to Data Centre Operations and Strategy including preparation and ownership of internal and external audits.

Manage relationships with Facilities Department to ensure the effective maintenance of the Data Centre and all regional IT Rooms.

Contribute to the ongoing development of processes and procedures.

Contribute to overall Data Centre strategy including Cloud Migration .

Liaise with other SLC departments including: Infrastructure, Configuration Management, Change Management, Programme and Project offices, Procurement, Vendors and 3rd party support organisations.

Maintain, document and enforce physical security, access controls and manage access permissions for Data Centre facilities, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Schedule planned preventative maintenance

Manage DCIM / BCM environments and toolkits

Managing change control, permit-to-work, project engagement, white space management and QA audits .

Manage demand and capacity planning.

Implement operations processes and procedures.

Work closely with other technology and business service teams to understand and influence decisions dependent on Data Centre services.

Manage and maintain site records including: IT equipment, Power load and distribution, Inventory ,Inbound and outbound goods and Tools and storage.

Maintain Health and Safety planning, training, testing and accident records.

Maintain and implement site induction process and associated records.

REQUIREMENTS:

3+ years' experience in a Data Centre Management role within an Enterprise scale environment.

Proven experience in successfully managing small teams (c. 3-5) in a technical environment.

Relevant Data Centre industry qualification.

Experience of operating Data Centres on a day to day basis 3.

Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal.

Previous exposure to implementing and configuring Datacentre monitoring solutions.

Coordinating hardware Installs, Moves and Changes within a Data Centre environment.

Experience of leading BCP\DR processes with the ability to ensure processes are relevant to critical business requirements in the event of an emergency.

Effective and efficient approach to Datacentre management through attention to detail and a demonstrable ability to build relationships with internal and external, technical and nontechnical partners.

A hands-on approach with excellent analytical skills with a dedication to quality standards.

Strong service attitude; the ability to develop and build lasting internal and external customer relationships. Have a massive focus on customer experience and service.

Effective time management skills; with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously requiring experience with prioritising tasks due to shifting priorities, fluctuating workloads, and deadline pressure.

Experience of capacity and availability management and reporting.

Experienced in planning, facilitating, and managing change.

Microsoft Office and Visio skills.

Managing Data Centre outages and incidents  Upholding compliance to Change and Access rules.

Demonstrable knowledge of Data Centre critical facilities including electrical and mechanical plant, cooling plant and fire suppression.

Demonstrable experience of working to, or familiarity with, Data Centre Best Practices and Standards including: TIA 942; TIA 606, ASHRAE 90.1, ISO 20000, ISO 50001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISO 27031 and PCI-DSS.
